Emerging Artist

Brooklyn, New York rapper Desiigner (#1) literally put one track out, Panda, and it was all he needed to begin his road to stardom. After dropping the song in late December it immediately made the rounds on the internet, the street, and in clubs. It seemed that no one could get enough of the driving yet dreamy trap groove and slurred lyrical style that garnered more than one comparison to Future’s style.

Kanye West jumped in, quickly inking the young star (he isn’t even 20 years old yet) to a deal with G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam in February, which he announced at the Yeezy Season 3 event at Madison Square Garden. Mr. West then promptly brought the newbie into the studio, featuring him on two tracks from The Life of Pablo. Desiigner (born Sidney Selby III) previewed his second single, Pluto, just last week at South by Southwest in Austin.
