Emerging Artist

Bishop Briggs (#13) is moving up the Emerging Artists chart quickly on the strength of her Island Records single River, which is now #18 at Alternative radio. Born in London, steeped in Japan and Hong Kong, and residing in Los Angeles, the enigmatic singer has been evolving in our sights for some time now. Her first spike caught our attention when her head-bobbing cut, Wild Horses, was featured in an Acura commercial late last year (then going as just “Bishop”) and viewers wanted to hear more.

It was recently announced that the singer landed some mega-choice opening slots for Coldplay in August and September along with Alessia Cara; she’ll be warming up with a few radio shows, festivals, and a headline club gig at the Troubadour in LA on June 7th.
